WEEKEND RECAP AND RANT

Cowboys:

COWBOYS WIN...... 38-17
The boys went into Philly last night and took care of business with an impressive win of the falling fast Igles.

Grades:
Passing Game: B+
Romo had another Jedi game going 20-25 324yds 3td 1int

Running Game: B+
J.J and the Barbarian were solid once again, combined for 29 rushes for 113yds 2tds
Both guys caught the ball well out of the backfield 6rec 72yds

Receiving Game: B-
Aside from T.O and Witten the other Cowboy WR were nonexistent Owens 10rec 174yds 1td (this is why Dallas signed him he is still a big time wide out)Witten 3rec 77yds 1td (bloody nose no helmet, did you see how great his TD catch was. Best Cowboys tight end ever?? )

Defense Game: B+
1st play of the game Marcus Spears forces a McNabb fumble which leads to a Cowboys TD. Would have liked to seen better pass rush but they got there when it counted and pretty much held the Eagles offense at bay until garbage time. I thought the contained the Eagles best player Brian Westbrook in the 1st 3 quarters of the game which was huge he ended up with decent line for the game but most came with the game well in hand. Welcome back Anthony Henry played in limited action but was solid by keep everything in front of him and picking off another ball to give him 5 ints on the year.

Kicking Game: A
Rookie kicker Nick Folk was 5 for 5 on extra points and 1 for 1 by kicking a 22yard field goal. Punter Matt McBriar wasn’t called on much only had 2 punts for a 42.5yard average obviously out kicking his fellow Ausie Sam Rocca.

Overall Game: B+
Anytime you go into a divisional opponent’s stadium and have their fans leaving with 10 minutes left to play you have done something. Now you did that in Philly where they hate the Cowboys hate T.O. you must have really done something. The coaches had a good game plan and the Boys' took care of business giving them a 1 game lead on the Giants 2 game on the Deadskins and 4 games on the Igles. Good job guys according to all the experts you will find out what you are next weekend when you take on the Giants. More on that game in the coming days..

Mavericks:

Mavs welcomed back Josh Howard on Saturday night beating the Sacramento Kings 123-102
The Mavs are still having a problem rebounding the basketball. If wasn’t for their ridiculous shooting percentage 65.2% this game could have been another let down. But, they handled there business and had the game in hand basically by halftime. The Kings are down 2 of their starting 5 with Ron Artest suspended and Mike Bibby with a broken finger. Kings were led by Kevin Martin who had a game high 28 points. The Mavs started fast thanks mainly to little J.J Barea and Josh Howard. J-Ho is such a great asset to this team he brings toughness and all around great game to this team he should be an all-star candidate again this year. Brandon Bass had some more amazing blocks but he didn’t have as consistent game as Avery would have liked Bass was a little careless out there but he is still learning the game at this level and will be just fine. Dirk was solid as always with another quiet 24 points 7 assist he has such a sweet jump shot and his low post game is quite impressive so far this season. Mavs play the Rockets tonight at 7:30 we will be back later in the day with the preview.

College Football:

So who wants to be the #2 team in the nation now. Another crazy weekend in College Football. Especially looking at the BCS Rankings
and seeing Kansas is #4 followed by 2 more Big 12 Schools Mizzou and OU now who would have ever predicted that. Kansas beat down my Cornhuskers on Saturday by putting up 76 points and 572 total yards. Is Bill Callahan done in NU he has to be right? In other games Sooner handled Aggie 42-14 boring. Mizzou 55 Colorado 10. Texas barely beat Oklahoma ST. 38-35. Iowa St won a game beating Kansas St. 31-20. Texas Tech beat the little Baylor Bears 38 - 7.
