Mavs lose 111-107 to the Pacers

Quotes after the game

Avery Johnson

“(On his ejection) There’s nothing really to talk about, just had a difference of opinion. In that case, you’re never right. He thought I was wrong and that was that. (On Jamaal Tinsley) He was backing in there. We just couldn’t get him caught down below. We just have to snap out of this funk we’re in. (On their free throw shooting) Yes, but we’re getting there pretty good. We missed two or three (near the end). Bass is driving hard. (On the first half) We weren’t playing good in the first half.”

Devin Harris

“They got a lot of quality rebounds that gave them a lot of good second shots at the basket. When it came down to the end of the game, they were able to get to the free throw line a lot and we kind of sputtered. The first quarter was a struggle and it’s been a struggle for us all year. We need to fix it, definitely and we need to fix it quick. It’s going to be definitely harder on the road to come back from early deficits. Where as at home it’s easier because you have your crowd behind you. The second quarter has been our best quarter all year. The third quarter we felt like we had a great quarter that got us back in the game, but in the fourth quarter, I think we just ran out of gas. (On his match up with Tinsley) It wasn’t anything personal. It was just tough competition. He’s a tough competitor, a touch player, he had it going all night. We tried to make him take more shots than usual. Our goal was to have him be a shooter tonight not a passer. And you look at the stat sheet, he was 10-24 so we got what we wanted, but credit them. They played well and got the victory.”

Jason Terry

“(on behind early in games) We are making it tough on ourselves, the last three games. It takes a lot out of you to have to come back like that. You have to use up a lot of energy. Tonight they just out played us. They got to more loose balls. They out rebounded us, out hustled us. We were never able to seize control of the game and they forced us to play catch up all night long.”
