Well the game tonight just had a funny feel to it seemed like the Mavs were just flat. Aside form Devin Harris the rest of the team just couldn't get started. They missed J-Ho badly tonight. Atlanta has a roster full of athletes and future studs. Josh Smith, Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams looked great was it because the fit the mold of athletes i.e. Golden State Warriors? But, it was just game 2 of a very long very fun season to come for the Mavs. Starting Point Guard Devin Harris was held out of the 2nd half after he had a collusion with Hawks Joe Johnson. He has a thigh bruise and his status for the home opener tomorrow night against Sacramento is uncertain. Its tough to play a young team that had a great pre-season (7-1) on opening night. Tomorrow night against the Kings will be the Mavs 3rd home opener this season Cleveland and Atlanta being the other two. JJ Barea looked good in limited minutes with 14 points. Brandon Bass was solid again and had a big block with the clock running down late in the 4th but the ball took a bad Mavericks bounce and Joe Johnson ended up hitting the game clincher. There was some good some bad with tonights game but like I said it is only game 2 of the season. Avery will turn the game into a teaching session like he has done throughout the past few seasons. Mavs got rebounded 52 to 38 which will not get it done. Diop fouling out hurt but that isn't an excuse they have to improve in that department.
